no undersold on ministership buildings in ukraine's crimea bordered by key is a small today by local self-defense forces as they were probably surprised minister claims control of all security personnel and appeals to russia for help. because foreign ministry accuses the new authorities in kiev of trying to destabilize crimea while russia's parliament calls on president putin to defend the residents of the autonomous republic from violence. meanwhile one ukrainian nationalist m.p. makes an atomic threat saying the country could to reconceive base international agreements and replenish its nuclear arsenal within months.
7:01 am
international news and comment live from last go with me you know thanks for joining us. and we start with breaking news from the south of ukraine right now in crimea there was an attempt to count administrative buildings by on demand sent by the new authorities in kiev the prime minister of crimea has responded by taking control of all the security forces in the republic calling on them to ignore orders from kiev and asking russia to support to ensure peace in the printings humor and. is following the developments and joins us now live from. the situation like where you are in the moment. well groups of gunman from kiev attempted to capture several government buildings here in the crimea fired to arms and sound
7:02 am
grenades as well but these self-defense squads managed to repel these attacks although there are reports of injuries among them and now local authorities are saying that they will continue to protect the crimea from any radical threats coming from extremists who hijacked power in kiev as a result as a result and we're also hearing from the local prime minister the prime minister office autonomous republic that he's now put all the local security forces including the police the military the navy and the border guards under his personal control the authorities here have also changed the date of a referendum aimed to decide whether or not crimea should gain more independence from kiev the date has been changed from may to more so basically in the very near east future and also authorities here in the crimea are asking russia for help.
7:03 am
russia is deeply concerned with the recent developments in crimea in the early hours of march the first armed men sent from key have made an attempt to seize the interior ministry of the crimean autonomous republic this treacherous provocation left several people injured. thanks to the resolute actions of the self-defense squads the attempt to seize the building was repelled this latest incident proves that certain political circles in kiev a reader to destabilize the situation in the crimean peninsula we are to those who issue such orders from kiev to show restraint we believe that a further escalation of the already tense situation in crimea is irresponsible. he just listened to a statement coming from the russian foreign minister which said it's quite alarmed about these attacks which happened over the night here and said it's very unproductive for than your thought. to aggravate the situation here like that if he were in apart from that what was russia's response to the local authorities appeal
7:04 am
for help. well we're now hearing from the upper house of the russian parliament which says that. basically they are not ruling out the possibility of a limited contingent of russian troops entering the crimea to ensure safety here in this autonomous republic earlier the speaker of the upper house of parliament said that the lives of russian citizens and military troops are clearly under stress and moscow quote has no rights to be inactive also the parliament has said that ukraine currently is in a state of default and moscow must help. financially politically socially with energy and security as well and they are also calling on the president to use all of russia's capabilities to assist the crimea during this difficult time also the upper house of parliament says that the final decision of
7:05 am
course on whether or not any troops will be deployed here is of course. has to be made by the president as well now the parliamentarians also are saying that the authorities in kiev have no legitimate control right now over the situation in the country since many of them are far right radicals and extremists and they are doubting also that any type of elections which could be held here in ukraine would also have no legitimacy among the people. very much and. of course while the russian parliament debate steps to help the people in crimea ukrainian police officers who were disbanded by the new government in kiev are already receiving aid those who are stationed in crimea russian passports. today. this is the

golden eagles swan song the bear cooks ukraine's elite police force after weeks of deadly clashes in the capital kiev on the orders of the ministry of internal affairs to protect government buildings from rioters the barricades are no more. ukraine's new authorities were quick to dispense a thousand strong and to write unit. former officers were made to publicly kneel in western ukraine and beg for forgiveness while locals shouted shame pelting them with objects the country's acting interior minister posted on his internet page that the better because a finished for a new master for the go more for it's hard for us there are many among us who sacrificed their health and lives to protect citizens after twenty two years of service they just threw us out like garbage it's painful when you know the little

denise of spent two decades in the ukrainian police he says the barricades in kiev were simply unprepared to face armed protesters while trying to carry out their deity yet choose any on friday during his press briefing in russia president called which did apologize for that i believe well it. could offices have had more out of cocktails thrown out there being shot at by live ammunition and killed i apologize to these courageous people who have stood up and suffered any new magoo. i can't say that i don't accept these apologies at the end of the day we didn't fight fianna coverts and it was not him personally we protected we tried to protect the public order to allow the state to function. within the body of a show that to one of numerous pasted only to show in their backers inaction to keep silent while watching. these videos you can see what these people in the
7:08 am
booklets of beating were doing before they were arrested what was going on that was a real war and only experienced people with special training could tolerate that and the violence they witnessed led to more violence when there were the british just your way in the blood thinner head of barracuda veteran association who believes that the warring sides with far from equal. the burghers faced their world financed and a well trained force their recognitions was excellent they knew about our tactics and strategies we were naked and blind. and. with their kids reputation now fatally undermined by the interim government in kiev there remains at least one place in ukraine where they still respected ukraine's southern autonomy as region of crimea recognized neither kiev's new masters nor their laws and they refused to disarm the barracudas in fact they reinforced them
7:09 am
instead this is the headquarters of ukraine's a very good here in crimea so for operators you can see the buildings surround by barricades and patrolled around the core so-called people's guards are here day and night they say they are worried about attacks this is the upside down reality of ukraine today those whose mission just until recently was to secure a peace and prosperity of the country's population are today in need of protection themselves people here have different backgrounds they're from different ethnic groups but they share one common goal this is only one. protection berkut from the army of folks who came to power as a result of the arms coup they controlling the puppet government that's fishing decrees have gone towards including disarming and sermon birchard where protecting their families broken surface are also our protectors against people who are committing terror in other areas of ukraine those who gathered here say they don't want to firemen's but if it comes here they would be ready to resist even if they
7:10 am
have to pay with their own lives reece notion r t from crimea. so people in eastern ukraine are gathering to protest against mere notes and groups and the minds on movement they're calling for peaceful rallies using social networks as you can see demonstrations that taking place in a number of cities across the east and south of the country without a cause of donetsk and a death among them and hardcore activists say they want everybody to see the real situation in ukraine and to reject what they call the nationalistic dictatorship in the country in donetsk people claim they're moving against occupation and intervention and have told the former opposition leaders they're not welcome back according to some sources thousands of demonstrators are already gathered in the center of the city and have raised the russian flag over the local administration that in a while representatives of the new ukraine government are already threatening to
7:11 am
request literally go new clear as a future from this for border pass he warns that kiyo could go back on its own constitution and restock its nuclear arsenals within six months and as a sitter cannot report. double standards go to war washington suffer sleepless nights and paranoia when it comes to the nuclear capabilities of countries like iran iran's nuclear program around strictly a program iran's nuclear program but the us turns a blind eye when it comes to provocative statements coming out of key have one member of the ukrainian parliament's ultranationalists aboard a party warns that a fresh a doesn't tread carefully it will be dealing with a nuclear power that's the rhetoric despite ukraine signing up to the international nuclear nonproliferation treaty of one thousand nine hundred four there is a double standard when it comes to the way that the united states deals with supposedly nuclear threat from iran which let's not forget there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that iran intends to develop nuclear weapons for for aggressive
7:12 am
military purposes unlike iran the warning from the ukrainian lawmaker includes an actual deadline of just a few months this in a conflict torn country where even the most pessimistic predictions ended up becoming a reality but none of that seems to disturb the us the money that we can't use to be good for the hungry in the united states and in europe that money is going to support nazis in ukraine with nuclear ambitions who are looking to destabilize the region and whose sole goal is the destruction of russia yet another example of hypocrisy flying high from a country that touts itself as the world's leading democracy and cannot r.t. new york. so how really scared is nuclear threat here are some facts on the country's atomic history ukraine gets hold of its energy from nuclear sources and one of its blonds in europe says europe's largest or the reactions are designed in
7:13 am
russia to historical ties between the atomic agency says so but it is not enough to make a weapon so ukraine does have facilities and scientists and that field but it lacks its own fuel get a no weapons grade material from russia. now you can still put together a dirty bomb with and without wasting much time to get to the right enrichment level here but base would break ukraine's international commitments not to use of produce nuclear weapons and contradict its own constitution as for delivery vehicles a nuclear payload can be fitted in a simple artillery shell or a rocket or take a look at these suggested time frame three to six months isn't enough to construct an atomic bomb as we know it but it is enough for a radio actually dirty bomb of the political and economic analyst martin see from the globalist news website things they scenario is quite unlikely. the us threats
7:14 am
are probably big stream of irresponsible blowouts but it's very alarming to hear them being made in the first police new government which is now emerged to keep. other figures like the opposition state with the least to act in the responsible manner to earn the deserved respect and trust and cooperation of the international community that comment is disastrously card to productive and should be seen as search and. the archibald rice institute for said in studies that sees breaks breast taken hypocrisy in america's treatment of events in ukraine. the hypocrisy here is astonishing it's just breathtaking i'm i'm taking being taken back to you were in the one nine hundred ninety s. where the principles of change basically on a daily basis just sort of they could be adapted to the needs of western powers when the us installed government takes over power by force and takes over central
7:15 am
government of ukraine that's all of a sudden legitimate and everything is fine but when that genuine people's assembly such as the one in crimea decide that they don't want to be loyal to such a government that it was installed illegally that it's not legitimate that it's a product of a coup d'etat and they don't feel safe and in fact the first thing that the government did one of its first acts was to abolish russian and impose ukrainian language as is the only legitimate language in the country this is disenfranchising half of the country's population not to mention other minorities and this is perfectly fine for the u.s. government even though it claims to be supporting civil rights around the world again the hypocrisy here is breathtaking and of course there's more news coming your way out of the sean break including a report on rebel attempt to derail chemical does dominant in syria. this is the easiest place for billionaires and dictators to launder money why
7:16 am
because it's the only country in the world you can have a nominee for breasts a lot of americans create overseas and then those that's a teaser rate anonymous corporations in america so they launder their money in america general electric they made billions of dollars in revenues they paid less than twenty million dollars in taxes last year because of massive fraud because america is the easiest place to commit mass. put it on your. face. pleasure to have you with us here on t.v. today i'm sure.
7:17 am
it won't seem to national live from moscow welcome back syria says rebel forces carried out to attack some chemical weapons convoys last month damascus and says the constant threat from minute and this is compering and denying the process of destroying its unconventional weapons oh she's point to sierra looks had the opposite a cold. for the first time in history a country tasked with destroying its chemical arsenal why the war the problem on chemical weapons is that the syrian regime has a draft and is not moving forward in the way that the security council. laid out that it should move forward it's true that syria is struggling to fulfill its promises and commitments but syria denies in the very strongest terms it is
7:18 am
deliberately slowing things down. look at the history of syria since the formation of the united nations of which syria is an establishing member will show that syria has always been committed to its files is never given a promise without food filling it when we talk about transferring these weapons we talk about hundreds of kilometers the need to be passed in safe conditions of the terrorists threaten they would try to target the convoys. damascus says its efforts to destroy its stockpiles have been slowed down by radicals sabotaging its efforts they've attacked weapons carriers and made transporting the chemicals even more difficult and dangerous syrian soldiers have been killed guarding these chemical weapons these deadlines were set only for a matter of weeks for syrian state as for the u.s. for damascus has repeatedly said it will abide by its commitments but the opposition has yet to make the same claim what's more even the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons is managing the removal process says the given
7:19 am
deadlines are soft deadlines and the west should not be too concerned about them being missed at this stage and. when you put a schedule your put it theoretically on the ground will just stick and security conditions may alter and many obstacles mean there you. a fourth consignment containing mustard gas left syria a few days ago delays are not insurmountable delays that the reason there's a rationale there's a context syria was supposed to complete its chemical weapons remove a by march but damascus is asking for an extension until mid may to complete a job that everyone knew wasn't going to be easy. r.t. . western diplomats have criticized the assad government for the desires and delays but middle east journalist karyn luke field has been to syria many times says those assigning blame are the ones are really hampering the process terry i was not provided with the necessary equipment to lift all
7:20 am
this material. because syria was not. did not have this material and was dependent on some countries to provide this material these equipment to syria the syrian government made clear that those who are putting the blame of the syrian government are not at the same time they are not really helping the government as i said with the equipment or with the support which the government needs to get rid of this chemical weapons and there is an international agreement with the organization of protection of chemical weapons once the country signs the agreement the other countries the other member states of the organization have to help this country to get rid of the weapons so i think it's really double standard which is put on in this case. and more of chemical design into the

code she wants to make it clear though that she feels the store has the right to sell this type of shirt just not displayed in an exterior window ultimately her plan is to return the shirts on day fifty nine of the store's sixty limit let's hope for her sake they don't have a no return policy i bring this up because this is a great example of a nonviolent form of protest that actually works cause the scandal and more importantly it will make the company lose a few dollars technically the girls on the shirts are even fully exposed believe me i checked thoroughly and i would even call them r. rated the local communities have the right to be more conservative than the rest of the nation if they want to be and it's good that judy cox actually did something rather than just sitting at home on the air complaining about moral decay across the country if a housewife from a small mormon community can stand up to the man what's stopping you but that's just my opinion.

market and on this show we reveal the big picture of what's actually going on in the world we go beyond identifying the problem to try to fix rational debate in a real discussion critical issues facing up to five different ready to join the movement then welcome to the big picture. welcome to the kaiser report imax kaiser you know the c.e.o. of mt gox try to concern troll his way into a bailout just like hank paulson trolling congress in two thousand and eight marker pallas told other but coy firms that he was really very concerned that if they
7:29 am
didn't bail him out to the tune of two hundred thousand bitcoin then bitcoin would collapse of course when treasury secretary x. goldman sachs and paulson did the same congress and shrinking voters gave him what he wanted for markets had tumbled by nearly one thousand points and when. yes were big babies stop it they cried so mark now that you have bankrupted the magic gathering online exchange and allegedly disappeared with your customers money in the style of john corazon of m.f. global and for me and now that the us federal prosecutors have support you. it's time to get a job on wall street that's where too big to fail crybabies operate big point is no place for babies stacey yes maxwell allegedly all of this is allegedly market parlous at mt gox has lost or misplaced or stolen so the notion of forty four thousand bitcoin and again we're prerecording this
7:30 am
a bit so we don't know if he has jumped from some tall building in tokyo yet but at the time of the recording he has not yet jumped now that seven hundred forty four thousand because it is about six percent of all big queen out there but did you know that three percent of chinese g.d.p. per year is also stolen taken out of the country and brought to australia the way canada and america corrupt chinese officials flee overseas some bound for australia so apparently there is an intensifying crackdown on corruption in china so they're all fleeing and the chinese academy of social sciences a prestigious government controlled think tank urged stricter monitoring of what it termed naked officials those whose spouses or children have migrated overseas and were therefore more likely potential recipients of illicit from from within china the phenomenon of the flight of officials is likely to escalate particularly under the current anti-graft we've been
7:31 am
a research of the academy and co-author of the report corrupt qadri is are running out of places to live in this country right. china's g.d.p. is being extracted by these corrupt officials fleeing what percentage of the us g.d.p. is tied to these too big to fail is on wall street that are being bailed out and disrupting their economy i think it's something like twenty two percent so america six percent of the bitcoin economy being in question due to the machinations of mark pelosi over there in tokyo it's part and parcel of what you see and mark. the point being though that he's established himself as a totally corrupt guy therefore he should be working on wall street not in the big client space because bitcoin is free market capitalism it's not true only capitalism is not too big to fail capitalism he's not trying to emulate hank paulson by extorting a bail out fee from other bitcoin firms so he's clearly on the wrong side of the
7:32 am
crypto divide he should be in fear world not and crypto world well at one point that seven hundred forty four thousand bit queens was worth close to a billion dollars right now it's worth like four hundred million dollars but you know there's a place where if you can steal loot that much from any economy there's a place for you as they point out here for these chinese officials past experience shows that the most popular destinations for corrupt officials are the us canada and australia said who's in doubt and an economics professor at the beijing institute of technology australia has already become a major resupplying country of chinese corrupt officials now astrology is changing their visa system because there were so many chinese there were literally tens of thousands of them on this list on this visa application list for one of the top of these applications their visa categories and instead because there were so many they reckon they could charge them like two and a half million australian dollars instead of the i don't know the tens of thousands
7:33 am
they were charging previously well this is inflation people say there's no inflation but this isn't a place of. just central banks are printing lots of money and it's going into chinese visa applicants whose price for coming into the u.k. is going from one million to two million soon to be five million pounds why do they want to come here and they want to come here to launder the money they're stealing from china when they arrive here they use all the laundered money given to them through the central banking system to jack up real estate prices in london and everyone else who's actually working for a living like firemen policemen school teachers doctors they have to move out of london to make room for the kleptocrats. and that's where the inflation is creating a problem in the economy well that's where you have housing bubbles the countries they mention australia canada think of the vancouver house prices again a lot of those are also bought by chinese they could be fleeing now they said you know that it was the boston consulting group who said that three percent of annual g.d.p. every year taken from the country smuggled out by these corrupt officials the naked
7:34 am
officials now the actual numbers are quite amazing they say a previous report from the cast said more than eighteen thousand officials had fled the country between one thousand nine hundred five and two thousand and eight smuggling out assets totaling eight hundred billion yuan which is one hundred forty five billion dollars in one week alone last year the state run economic observer newspaper reported that seven hundred fourteen government officials fled overseas and did not return again this is inflationary the people who are being destroyed by this inflation are dying and the government is pointing to the people dying on the street and saying you see that's deflation so we need to keep interest rates low they don't bother looking at the fact that on the top and to do mass migration of billionaires it's causing incredible inflation that's bankrupting and destroying everyone else who's not in the kleptocrats class but the bankers only look at the
7:35 am
people who are devoted of the club talk or see and say you see there is deflation let's keep interest rates low they've put the blinders on and they don't look anywhere else in the economy were hyperinflation of visa's going from one million pounds to three million pounds in twenty four months that doesn't seem to factor into their calculations why they should raise interest rates not make visa applicants higher because all you're doing is you're feeding the kleptocracy and you're continuing to create economic victims now markopolos did issue a statement claiming he was still in tokyo so we don't know if he's actually fled to australia canada. or the u.s. under one of these visa programs with all those looted bitcoin but the actual chinese themselves who are victims of these corrupt officials well mt gox exchange shutdown sparks chinese bitcoin gold rush chinese investors rush to buy bitcoin we were watching. dot com actually you can see prove you remove all of the bitcoin
7:36 am
going straight into china well since tuesday more than thirty thousand bitcoins have changed hands in china that's four times the usual trade volume in compares with just three hundred exchange in the united states markopolos is the john chorus sign of the bitcoin world he made a terrible bet bitcoin had he been able to hold this position it would have been very profitable for him but like john karzai and his position and euro bonds the timing was bad he ended up bankrupting m.f. global he did eventually get a stay of execution from goldman sachs and his friends in washington because they can print all the free up money they want to cover all the crimes that are being committed but it cannot be printed to cover up the crimes so like real market free market capitalism disguise going to have to actually face the music well exactly everybody saying well there should be regulation but now you compared to junk or sign just like markopolos they actually made a really excellent wicked cool bets they made sure bets but they both dipped into
7:37 am
client funds they both dipped into client funds to cover their losses now despite all of the regulation despite everything that happened post enron where c.e.o.'s are supposed to know what's going on with their books he pleaded ignorance he said i'm just stupid i didn't know that this was going on and he got out of jail free well people are saying markopolos should have known he apparently never audited his books once they say in the last three years so he's alleging he's as stupid as john corazon well in a free market capitalist economy something called the price signal john course on the price signal of the bond market. it was manipulated by his folks and friends in the various bankers around the world to make it look like there wasn't this massive fraud going on in the case of free market capitalism a bit coin the pricing all big coin dropping fifty percent from a high tells us that there is in fact something going on that needs to be looked at and now it's being looked at and the deadwood is being cleaned out of the big coin
7:38 am
economy you know people who say that bitcoin is not regulated are that's false the big point is the most regulated currency in the world it's called the big protocol that's the regulation it does intermediates and it gets written it gets rid of the need for the c.f.o. or the serious fraud office or the f.c.c. or anyone else fin rennes fin sent you don't need them because it's self regulating in the truest sense of the world the words like the question equals mc squared there's no there's nothing you can do to perfect that is what it is it was discovered and that's what it is that you don't need a regulator to come and say we need to regulate equals mc squared similarly with a bit coin protocol there's nothing any regulator can do to add or subtract from the fact of the protocol what it is that's what it is so we're talking about china and the corruption there were forty one new billionaires created last year they're only second to the united states where there were seventy two billion new
7:39 am
billionaires created so i want to talk about corruption in the united states because everybody us is the global police force right well political connections and turbulent times and a seminal two thousand and one paper ray fiske been mapped out the connections of various indonesian companies to then president suharto and showed that the market value of those companies varied relative to the value of otherwise similar companies as rumors spread about suharto's health so they're like ha ha that's a banana republic they're corrupt well they've just done a study looking at the united states in particular those bankers in particularly connected very strongly to tim guy. and what they found over the ten trading days following the announcement of tim geithner as treasury secretary financial firms with a connection to gider experience a cumulative abnormal return of about twelve percent relative to other financial sector firms this reversed when his nomination ran into trouble due to unexpected tax issues so the same corruption clearly is being priced in the price signals
7:40 am
saying that it is a corrupt nation the us is the easiest place for billionaires and dictators to launder money why because it's the only country in the world they can have anonymous corporations a lot of americans create entities overseas and then those entities create anonymous corporations in america so they launder their money in america general electric they made billions of dollars in revenues they paid less than twenty million dollars in taxes last year because of massive fraud because america is the easiest place to commit massive fraud and the same thing with pretty much the entire s. and p. five hundred but anyway we're out of time love to pick this up next time thanks so much ok stay right there much more coming your way.
7:41 am
as you don't know if you don't perk or. everyone in my life that i cared about they're gone and then. came the skin. i was sat national champion in track and field and also i was able to go in qualify for the olympic games. you know nine hundred eighty eight i started to experiment with that the drugs i had lost all the financial means that i. was really on the street. her mom. black large brown can't. bear to break up the tree.
7:42 am
there's now no more can lead to nato. beyond say sorry.
7:43 am
the interview. cut. to kill himself. welcome back to the kaiser report imax keyser time now to turn to charles hoskins said he's a cryptographer and one of the guys behind a new crypto phenomenon theory i'm charles blow because a report and it's
7:44 am
a pleasure to be on now i said something in the first of all i'm going to comment on it because a lot of people talk about in terms of regulation and i said the thing about big oil is it's to a degree self-regulated the algorithm the protocol is the regulation so my example was equals mc squared i mean that's what it is i mean a regulator can come in and say well maybe that is what it means they can have no effect on it it is what it is the bitcoin protocol self-regulating it's the protocol doesn't matter what any regulator says is that is not a fair statement well yes yes and no so it's a first date when you stay in crypto and so as long as you're within the big quake watching in the digital spectrum that's fine the minute you want to touch the feel world you want to touch the actual currency world then that's actually where they have a say so the points of regulation where we're seeing it strongly happening are at the exchanges right this is always been kind of the membrane to separate the two worlds and this is where they both are going to focus in conceivably crypt. eventually have its own ecosystem where never touches i would imagine at some point
7:45 am
well as long as you have to pay your taxes and fees there's always going to be a need for that money supply but yeah that's correct more and more commerce can be done in the digital spectrum and it's already being the case in places like africa for example kenya where they transact with and pay so they transact with other digital currencies and so we'll probably see more liberation we're rule of law and currencies are quite stable much as i was like to see it in from the world i want to i want to move on to theory because this is what we're way we're here to talk about so it's theory i'm you know we broke big coin on this show we were first to talk about it really in the world we talk about like oil and we were the first to talk about light going now i want to be the very first to talk about the theory and because this is really huge a new chapter in the whole story so give a little. all brief on it if you could share so a theorem is really just a continuation of the experiment of cryptocurrency since if we go back to the history of coin there was two things that they were testing they were testing the block chain so the idea of a decentralized database that everybody has a copy of and the second thing was a transaction system with these tokens that you could set around so effectively
7:46 am
became email for money that's great but then people said well we want all these other features we want prediction markets we want gambling we want wall street we want companies to live on a block chain we want wall and there is this endless amount of features that people could invent so we did a theorem is it's really a project of frustration we took a step back and said no features let's have a feature list turing complete block chain and let's go ahead and build kind of like the android of the cryptocurrency space to sit on top of it and let's make everything one click installation your wallet one click open transactions one click rip one clip just go down the list so that in a nutshell it's basically a theory and it's featureless thing where you can build your own features you can build your own applications and it kind of unifies entire cryptocurrency space to one bucket so you've got the block chain which is kind of the genius bit call it exactly and you've got it's used as a payment system which is very fantastic it's an amazing as you point out every single transaction carries with it every transaction it's ever happened up until that point right so you've got complete transparency so theory and says that this
7:47 am
block chain can be used and another one way and a more abstracted way it can be used basically for anything and i don't as a designer want to figure that out rather what i'm going to do is give that to you and i want to give that to everybody else in the ecosystem and say you know have this beautiful foundation to build whatever you want to build on top of it ok let me here's the thames river behind us it's flowing through the city of london. there are now could be the block chain in other words you know this is the base of the crypto bitcoin universe. all along the towns are different ways people are accessing the thames there's a war if there's a boat there are buildings there's act of commerce being done so it's very. kind of plugging into the flow that is big and the phenomenon that is big going and allowing folks to bill all kinds of things that are the word that came up when talking about a very efficient c so in one of the ideas that i had this we were talking earlier
7:48 am
all of the financial contracts in the world can be broken down into sixty contracts of futures options brokerage right so those sixty contracts just talk a little about that how that would work with the theory well in terms of willie brown it's he's done some great work so if people go to a project artist or woolies working with mit and thirty contracts he took a look at everything every financial relationship and they're really like molecules in a sense and you can actually break them down into more fundamental elements these stated cash flows basically and so he looked at this and said wow this is really interesting can we actually try to replicate all of wall street from some basic elements and that's what project actis is doing so what we're trying to do with willie and trying to do with others is actually take those of those and actually run those on the theory and the goal is to actually take wall street don't want change this time it's transparent it's fair it's not too big to fail so here we have become what is currency rush is giving central bankers and bankers the jitters making them quite nervous rightfully so right here you have on the theory i'm away
7:49 am
to take my correct my correction three central contracts that compass the universe of financialization and you're giving anyone anywhere the ability to simply plug into using if they're on the block chain and take companies public create futures contract trade prediction markets all for virtually no cost exactly so already everyone in that industry wall street city of london is that you know a word often heard in the tech space intermediated right so they get they get kind of blown out of the sun's new tools and you know it depends on the existing incumbents to decide how they want. to use these tools but the point is that the tools we have today work for two billion people and they work somewhat well but they don't work for the whole world and so the goal is how do we build a toolset that's going to work for seven billion people and how do we build the tools that this could work fare for seven billion people so the beautiful thing about the queen is it became the money of the internet it's
7:50 am
a fair money no matter where you're at it works the same and the goal of the theorem is kind of to become the internet of money it's a whole bunch of different things from contracts between people to contracts between property so we have smart property to even organizations that can live on a block chain and you can build consensus you can build reputation systems you could do gambling you could do it whatever you want to do our job is to build the foundation the world's job is to find what the applications are ok now one article suggest that it's theory him could replace or make obsolete bitcoin now we actually view big quoting to be kind of like gold in a theorem to be more like oil in terms of the economics and how we've designed the system so because it makes a really good store of value if you put your money into it no matter when you put it in over the long term you've made a lot of money and our hope is that's going to continue especially because of the deflationary economic model a theorem is more like a gigantic computational engine where people build things on top and they use their computational engine to do things in a trust this way and the fuel that runs an engine is ether the base unit of value in our ecosystem so they have different use cases and i think that actually can
7:51 am
live in harmony and that's actually why roger verbeck said in a recent video quinta theory and are great things to work together so they are complementary exactly ok now you are kept out of or so before a bit coy and there was something called cryptography and this is totally not come out joe in the big coin phenomenon as you know cryptography the way it works it can be turned into a currency. because the. computing power necessary to solve computational problems for top cryptography is setting up a situation where. harnessing and that work of folks together to do that in other words my question is. what was then a light bulb moment i think this will be interesting there's cryptography existed before bitcoin what was the toe she's inside what was that lightbulb moment what exactly the transition from cryptography to a currency model if that's
7:52 am
a legitimate question that's fine ok how would you describe that there's really two cryptographic primitives that are used in court one is the primitive use for consensus so there's this idea of the block chain where i put things into the block chain and they don't come out and it's trusted and secure across all parties so you need to hashing algorithm to do that when you show up to fifty six mexico and use the show three which is better so there's better well you know so three is great because it's it's a new cryptographic primitive uses the sponge construction there's all this magic behind it so i like show three more than fifty six but there's the debate and there's no debate max going is better but before we jump ahead i want to get back into the inside of the the cryptography it's used for a secure online transaction so there's two things right there so the first is to make sure that the database is secure so the ledger itself is secured by a mining process and that mining process relies on a hash algorithm the second thing is how do you spend your money who gives you the
7:53 am
right to do that so it's called public key cryptography in the particular case of it because it uses c.d.'s a elliptic curve digital signing algorithm and there's two parts a public address that everybody in the world can know and that's fine and then there's the private key that only the person who has the right to spend the money has so these two things put together actually allow you to create a completely decentralized and trusts list would it be correct to say that the problem big going to solve is double spending yes it's almost double spend ok because before then i could send somebody electronic token but i could conceivably do that sent out ten to ten people the same time right because that's the problem you need a central authority to maintain the database to approach inhibits spending but with the hashing algorithm you actually have a digital consensus in a decentralized way to prevent you from. counteracts instead of verify some people scarcity in a sense which is the first thing time that's ever been done we talk a little bit more about that a digital scarcity yeah so effectively once you have a database that secured by consensus nobody in the ecosystem nobody in the world can tamper with that unless they gain an overwhelming amount of power in the
7:54 am
network so effectively when you have tokens that are in that database those tokens are scarce they can't be quoted to replicate it just like gold it has that property and that's very unique it's never been done before in a digital sense the tokens are the big ones exactly right so you're solving you're paying the people who are lending their c.p.u. their computers to hash and in exchange they're getting a token you know those tokens that just so happens can be used now like money and that's why it was an experiment because when it was first built the tokens had no value then you could buy a pizza for you know ten thousand of them and now a lot of people are millionaires as a result of the appreciation of value because they're scarce ok right and so scarcity here's another description i would apply to the bitcoin on the scarcity issue in other words you could say because the idea of a big coin are the solutions to these cripple logical problems i've always existed since the beginning of time but only in the last five years as there are better enough computer power in the ability of network computers to actually go into the digital space a mind them you could like for example gold but in the earth's crust right forever
7:55 am
but it took technology and capital to go mind the gold the idea of turning a triple logical all solution into a currency it was kind of there since the beginning of time you could say because mathematics has been with us since the beginning of time but it was only when the last few years that you could harness together a network of computers solve this for this problem and get at this extremely scarce number of this precious number and i call them precious numbers for this in this way and a monetize precious number is that fair. so crazy that over overly poetic you need a lot of magic things to happen for pick. exists you need to the guys in the eighty's were thinking about digital currencies to do the things you needed wadeye to do this work with crypto plus plus you needed batum back to go ahead and create hashcash and all these things aggregated together at this beautiful paradigm shifting focal point which was suppose you know commodus white paper it was really
7:56 am
the capstone and we do this all the time in math if you look at andrew wiles when he sold for moss was there and it wasn't just andrew wiles there was hundreds of people cited because you needed all those meth petitions that came before to build something some tool to give him so because it is really the capstone of that a theory and it's the next step our hope is we're looking at everything that's been done in the pick an ecosystem we've looked at all the innovations all the failures and said ok now that we know these things let's try to build another step and then somebody is going to build another step after us so the intrinsic value story for big oil and the theory all comes back to scarcity yeah it comes back to scarcity and in a sense it also comes back to the social network around the money money smaller city is something that very few people are talked about in a way that seems to resonate out there because people just assume that digits are infinite but they're not in this case because these are solutions and numbers right that require vast arrays of computers to solve for. translating the scarcity but hey we've got to go and i told you we'd be running out of time quickly and we'd be
7:57 am
all crying about it but in fact we're out of time so i must make a buy but thanks so much for making the kaiser report thank you so much max super. and that's going to do it for this edition of the kaiser report with me max keiser and stacy herbert i'd like to thank our guest charles hoskins and of the syrian project if you like to get in touch tweet us a kaiser report the next time by. we'll call it on the road sign to a car skidded at breakneck speed fell into a ditch and i was thrown out. she was like a broken it wasn't a single hole. peace left us and i thought if i lived and had a chance to start my life from scratch that i would start making dollars to help children it. could go on right after he was born the baby was all in casts. his legs are getting bigger and the ortho says get too small so we have to order

8:00 am
you buy would be called an. unarmed assault on administrative buildings in ukraine's crimea ordered by kia if watered by local self-defense forces as the republic's prime minister claims control of all security personnel and appeals to russia for help. moscow's foreign ministry accuses the new authorities in kiev of trying to destabilize crimea while russia's parliament refuses to rule out sending limited troops numbers to the peninsula but says only the president can decide. on one ukrainian nationalist m.p. makes an atomic threat saying the country could reconceive its international agreements and replenish its nuclear arsenal within months.
8:01 am
this is all international coming to you live from moscow thanks for joining us and we'll start with breaking news this hour from the south of ukraine in crimea there was an attempt to capture a key administrative buildings by armed men sent by the new forces in kiev the prime minister of crimea has responded by taking control of all the security forces in the republic calling on them to ignore orders from kiev and asking russia to support to ensure peace. as well. groups of gunmen sent from kiev tried capturing several government buildings here in the crimea including the interior ministry but to be self-defense squads managed to repel the attack weapons were fired and also the radicals used grenades as well we are hearing about injuries among these self-defense squads now in the meantime local authorities are
8:02 am
saying that they will continue to protect themselves from the extremists who came to power in kiev as a result of a coup and also the local prime minister now is saying that he's temporarily put all the security services forces under his control including the police the military the navy and the border guards they're also asking russia for help and they're also they've also is now set a new date for a referendum aimed to gain even more independence from ukraine moving it from me to march now moscow has been saying that it's a very alarmed about the events which have been happening here in the crimea we're also waiting for the state duma to review how they could help the crimean see in the situation we've been hearing from some of the deputies of the state duma who just came back from the republic here from the southeast of ukraine and they are saying that potentially russia could help financially economically provide also
8:03 am
security energy and so on so once again we're now waiting for official statements from moscow in which way russia could assist the crimea which now of the foreign ministry in moscow has also been saying that it's very unproductive right now for the new authorities in kiev to aggravate the situation like that here in the crimea referring to these attacks during the night. russia is deeply concerned with the recent developments in crimea in the wash the first on demand sent from kiev made to the. ministry of the crimean in front of us who probably. key should last several people injured. thanks to him as well to actually save the some of the fan squads the time to seize the building last week this latest incident proves that certain political circles are eager to destabilize disconnection the crimea. we are . actually just from kiev to show restraint and we believe that a further escalation of the already tense situation in crimea is
8:04 am
a response to huge right now appears to have also moved on to economic blackmail threatening to do everything in its power to keep tourists from visiting the crimea during the summer and i in the meantime here local self-defense squads are continuing to patrol the autonomous republics key facilities such as two airports and the building of the local formant t.v. station as well russia is also saying that it's ready to grant citizenship to the former members of the berkut swat teams which has now been dissolved by the new opportunities in kiev we are expecting this to happen possibly as soon as by today . and let's now listen to what they had of russia's federation council i have to say a session of the stadium a. message of the. president within his. suit the answer to all possible. safety

alone already make clear the intentions of these people. and we have addressed so the president and we will be expecting you the reaction from the president and the reaction as to what measures should be undertaken soon the situation's indeed extraordinary and it calls for urgent measures. which will put you know if you read today the majority of the senators are already in the council of the federations and were discussing further possible steps and we consider it very urgent and very it should be taken into in a timely manner i see the president that. we have asked the president to undertake. full scope measures nor did i wish to prevent possible further excavation work in order to find a settlement for this but for this crisis within the legal framework. to make sure

that those people who have claimed power now in ukraine could not proceed to sow further at the same rate. since egremont had a clear statement of order first there should have been the constitutional reform. the reform that was. all the idea was to have it with the involvement of a large forces in iraq that their concern something should be reached that should be supported by the majority of the population in ukraine in the international law should be a national referendum. such decisions but unfortunately this was not done that's cool it's got a little bit and how speedy the elections for the presidents were. made to be legitimacy of such a decision also very questionable. the agreement also called for the i formation of the. government of national consent which meant that all the

political forces should be represented in the government but in real life we see that this government is just representing only a small part of the force is does not include all of them and was foreign basically only inclination to on the basis of the opposition factions and no one ever even asked the heads of the regions of ukraine for their opinion only involvement that's why it is very clear that the feelings in many parts of ukraine about that is. to start feeling excluded this is not how it is done she should be a legal legitimate way of finding a way out of the crisis. before we believe. with. the highly political and diplomatic culture that probably is not the way to

continue because this is not appreciated and is not ensuring the safety of the people of can therefore i believe the situation in the crimea the kind of exclamation that is going on there republic of the crimea is an autonomous territory on the territory of ukraine and. therefore the people of the crimea within of the framework of the era when the most territory can decide for themselves. to work how to organize the normal life for the people the government of the crimea has addressed press. for help economic help and all our help since the militant groups of the so-called opposition have opposition have already tried over the government buildings and some unknown people with weapons are just walking around and it's hard to assess the possible consequences until we stop this isolation of violence but if i urge
8:10 am
upon express to not forget that there are a lot of potential dangerous facilities in crimea and such power stations and if this goes on at this rate the consequences can be huge and we need to ensure safety and protection of all these facilities there. are forward it is possible that you know that to me the calls coming from the. government of the crimea it might be possible to have our troops enter the territory of the crane mir in order to help. secure these facilities of course it will be their decision to muttley but we cannot allow truly this possibility either because we need to protect people over sixty percent of people in crimea are russian nationals russian can russia really leave them there without the violence
8:11 am
going on also we should not forget that there are a lot of russian there is bordering on the ukraine and these territories territories this is also a reason why all the centers who came from there also are rendering the message of concern that these regions are very concerned with the kind of violence escalating in ukraine. people are when people see. people with a weapon and governance and throwing people out of the chairs in the government the police who just imagine that this is going. on our time in the big brother live nation no ukraine in a large european country is just impossible. for this is the case which calls for extraordinary measures we have been following the situation very carefully we have always said that we do not meddle with sovereign states business
8:12 am
we believe they held for your service reasonable forces in ukraine they are there in ukraine and they will do everything possible to see this situation into the legal framework but we do not see it happening we see that the opposite is happening and we cannot help but react to the cause of the pleas for help from the russian nationals living in ukraine because people are fleeing from ukraine because they are frightened for their life. they also say that people already get messages written on their doors saying that they should give up their places their houses and apartments. yes. i hope that all the arguments. that will come from russia we need i hope that we our cause will be heard i want to say
8:13 am
again we did not interfere with any decision making on the part of the ukrainian border is of authority we did not take part in the signing of this agreement because we thought we believed up to three states were very who signed this agreement they were very responsible they will take responsibility for their obligations but we see how it all ended and what it came down to we see. that it came down to revolt. the illegitimate power was thrown over. and at the same time there was no adequate response from our apartment partners in the west to what has happened we were expecting for this reaction we were expecting them as the sponsors of this decision to take over and steer the decision into the legal framework. which was consistent
8:14 am
with the agreement that was originally signed. and we have seen too much double standard approach that so much that we cannot wait for it anymore. such as for instance the head of the administrations of one of the buildings that was taken over word. that he witnessed people who took over the building did not really speak any craney and that is a sign of the interview intervention into the internal affairs of ukraine. and all the while will be waiting taking no waits waiting for the sensible reasonable decision legally due to many decision to be made. you've got all the while the protests were growing in the eastern areas of ukraine with the banning of the language the cancellation of the anti nazi.
8:15 am
law and we all know how much losses were both our nations to be during world war two so with all this we cannot just state outside of it this is the point of view of the upper house of the parliament for the last few days. my doors did not close i had so many centers coming over everyone was saying that we cannot take it anymore we cannot be silent anymore. with all the enormous number of calls. that we do see probably. because the main outcome of all the. actions that can be taken by russia will be to resort to a peaceful. state in ukraine and protect the lives of people that. this is what the outcome we should fight for kind we hope that the president of the

russian thing to ration will take the necessary and sufficient for this stage measures which would ensure such a development of the situation thank you. so. they had the federation council of the russian federation speaking at the edge and sessional the stay duma and just to remind me as authorities turned to russia for help and. has been following the reaction here in moscow and she joins us now live hi they didn't get any idea what russian m.p.'s want to see happen next the idea is that they are extremely concerned about the situation in crimea particularly in matters of security when it comes to protecting russian citizens and of course everybody else who is on the peninsula in this is thomas republic which it actually is officially and now we have heard from the state duma already who have. who have
8:17 am
expressed their concern with this situation they have also turned to the president of russia federation saying that they there is a need to make sure that there is no more and more tyranny and violence affecting the lives of people who live in crimea and they have turned to him for assistance and you have just heard from. the uncle who is the head of the upper house of the russian parliament so at this point it does seem like we have both houses of the russian federal. body who say that they are concerned with the situation there is definitely needs to protect the population of the crimean peninsula whole wherever even though we have heard them with the interim mention the fact that perhaps there will be a need for a small contingent of russian troops on the ground again for the sake of security and stability situation she said and i would like to emphasize that the decision lies with the president and of course even if he does even consider to make it
8:18 am
afterwards it still has to go through the vote of both houses of the russian parliament so it's not done before any war mongering actually gets out of hand which is the sort of has done already in the certainly. it's now what's important to underline here also is that neither the federation council nor the state duma acknowledge the legitimacy of the self proclaimed government in ukraine right now they say that people who have come to power and call themselves the government of ukraine have done so urgently and there are a lot of radical groups and individuals who have permeated all branches off the government in ukraine right now and therefore the elections which they have scheduled for me twenty fifth should not be considered legitimate and therefore russia will not recognize them so this is the official you can see the legislative reaction from russia at this point in time all right and he's really going to live there are enough thank you very much indeed for that update thousands of ukrainians
8:19 am
are currently protesting against new non-si groups and the mind on movement demonstrations are taking place in a number of cities across the east and south of the country we've heard a call of donetsk and a desert among them in donetsk crowds have formed to tell opposition leaders they're not welcome there the demonstrators have already taken the center of this issue and raised the russian flag over the local administration and it's a similar situation called with. clashing with supporters of the new authorities and there are reports of gunshots and injuries there unfortunately. while the russian parliament debates concrete steps to help the people in crimea ukrainian police officers who were disbanded by the new government in kiev already receiving aid those who are stationed in crimea and are being offered are being offered a russian passport starting from day saturday. and now reports. this is the

doing something for society with us and f.l. fame and fortune he is providing homes for turning wounded u.s. veterans good job mr allan generally for some reason wealthy people don't do much to help other people besides giving money to charity to get some sort of tax break kickback the thing they don't realize that helping other people out is actually in the best interest of rich guys too if they would ever just stop to think about it a little more so mega wealthy that you could live in total isolation you're going to have to deal with the rest of the people in your country and the better off the average guy is the less likely he's going to need to steal from you to get by ellen's work is fantastic because it gets veterans out of a desperate situation returning home wounded trying to struggle to find work in a bad economy and treat their wounds at a massively over expensive medical system here ellis point is a drop in the bucket for the over twenty million american servicemen who have come back home but it shows that a wounded veteran with a place to live as a much better chance at a good life and the fewer vets there are living under a bridge the better society will be but that's just my opinion.

have in store for you today. first up we'll look into the bitter battle between investor carl icahn and the activist investor and online a retail giant are throwing punches back and forth icons playing a rope a dope we'll tell you all about it coming right up was we'll bring you part two of my interview with alex daley he'll tell us about the world and you sure of mobile technology you definitely won't want to miss that and finally it's the end of the week which means it's viewer feedback today here on groom bust edward harrison and i address your questions comments concerns live right on the show you won't want to miss a moment so let's get to. our
8:31 am
lead story today the bitter about oprah tween activist investor coral icon and the online auction site e bay thursday icahn amped up his already heated clash with e-bay by challenging the online retailer to a dual true story not a twenty paces pistol type duel but a lot of t.v. debate now icon says that the current e.-bay board is not fit to decide what is best for the shareholders icahn recommended that e-bay sell its electronic payment unit pay pal and he's trying to convince a shareholders to press the company to spin off its financial transaction arm he big quickly rejected icon's challenge saying quote we will not be going head to head against carl icahn. this response prompted icon to compare the online retailer to an oppressive government regime saying quote it doesn't surprise me that they don't want to have a debate because in a totalitarian state there are no debates what they don't seem to realize is that
8:32 am
unlike in a totalitarian state there are people shareholders that can answer back now icons says director scott cook shouldn't be on the board of the seventy five billion dollar company because cook is also founder and chairman of into it into it has a relationship with payment processing startup square which is directly competes with pay pal now i can also criticize venture capital market and reason for profiting off discarded e bay assets including the online voice company skype alex hear it now on thursday e-bay brought out the big big guns founder and chairman pierre omidyar who famously became a billionaire at age thirty one when e-bay went public back in one nine hundred ninety eight pierre rejected icon's request to split off pay pal and said he stands by andres and cook and i mean he would say that and reason and cook and pierre they're all icons of silicon valley they're greatly respected and admired and they

probably truly believe that they haven't done anything off anything unethical or anything wrong but this sort of really dealing is common in the tech world and when the technology industry was still in its infancy people actually turned a blind eye to these kinds of conflicts of interest when it came to corporate governance but that was back then now however internet companies are an important part of the global economy companies in the sector have larger market caps than traditional blue chip companies and they rake in billions in i.p.o.'s so maybe carl icahn has a point companies this important should be extolled rather than condemned. yesterday we aired the first part of my conversation with technology expert alex daly now he's
8:34 am
a senior editor at casey research and today as part of that interview and we want to talk to alex about mobile as this is an increasingly focus and the focal point for many tech companies specifically the cloud technology now it's a word that we hear a lot but what does it actually mean i asked alex this very question and here's what he had to say. the cloud is this idea that storing your documents in your data in the internet as opposed to keeping it locally provides you with more convenience and maybe more security there are a lot of questions about that floating around today on the security side with big coin and everything that's happening i think the convenience of the cloud is no doubt you see these companies like box dot com dropbox you see google with drive microsoft with its sky drive which is now been renamed to one drive the idea that we can manage and own all users' data in the cloud means that they can use three four five ten devices simultaneously and still have access to all of their stuff
8:35 am
their music their documents their videos it's very convenient for consumers and it's really driven the tablet movement and the smartphone movement by providing us with access to our documents on both sides so i think that cloud is a natural underpinning to an increase in mobility in this continued move to smaller devices in lots of different form factors what about the concern though of security . it security is definitely a big concern in the cloud one of the things you have to ask yourself is you know are you content keeping data in a place where the systems administrators of the company can get to it where hackers can get to it where it can be intercepted in transit companies take this security threat really really seriously but we've already seen some very very big hacks we saw all problems with dropbox early on where there was a hack that allowed people to enter basically any dropbox account and read any of their data the company now assures us that that that's been patched but then again they assured us that they were secure before that happened i think the lesson for consumers is don't keep anything in the cloud or out of your control that you don't
8:36 am
want anybody else to have access to but the overwhelming majority of our documents and things do you care if somebody really sees your pictures from your last aka poco trip kind of yeah. let me tell you no more fun than mine i don't know about that regardless it's kind of the private things you like in private but i want to turn now alex to apple an apple growth it's tumbled in recent years now the company is using cash to buy back shares so the question is is apple stock a good deal at these levels. i don't think apple's stock is a good deal these levels because ultimately apple is still assigned the apple premium and until they can find a way to grow that multiples going to continue to shrink you're going to see their p. e. multiple come back down in line with other companies of their size with the oracle's microsoft and i.b.m. of the world i think apple's biggest challenge is that growth that you mentioned they need to find another product line another line of business that can add ten percent or more to the top line growth before they excite investors again before
8:37 am
they can keep that multiple stable or get it going back up so i don't like apple at these prices i definitely think that the entire large cap tech industry though is relatively overvalued right now most of the run up in two thousand and thirteen is attributable to an increase in p. e. ratios and not to an increase in underlying profitability and that to me is scary as an investor i don't think that profits catch up to this market before it corrects back down both apple and the other large cap players as in your opinion strategically what do you think is the best move for apple from here in order to best leverage think this a mobile presence. if i if i knew what the best critique move was for apple i'd be c.e.o. of the company probably what i can tell you is the opportunities they've yet to capture include china and india they don't have enough presence in either of those markets and they are making moves into them but ultimately it's going to take a new product and that's why i say i can't predict with that it's going to take
8:38 am
a new product line when microsoft had a top line growth problem in the late one nine hundred ninety s. and early two thousand when windows really tapered off they got into new businesses they got into servers servers is now a bigger business and core windows for them they've gotten into a bunch of different businesses share point is now a multi-billion dollar business for them microsoft has been able to grow a lot of four and five billion dollar businesses and grow itself to seventy billion in revenue apple's got to ask itself the question how does it move another ten billion dollars in product what is that business they're not in yet and that's i can see them getting into as google is more of the home automation more of the sectors where we start to use computing our primary goal isn't to actually be on the web surfing content but more this ubiquitous aspect may be the living room it's the tackle with the apple t.v. maybe it's wearable computing i doubt that one but i think home automation is definitely a possibility for apple and speaking of google what do you make of google's mobile strategy. to google's mobile strategy is interesting in the sense that it's
8:39 am
effectively set fire to everyone else's home unless you have the nicest one standing with android their idea was if we can compete fairly in this space and we'll put out something for free will that will be much more attractive to the o.e.m.'s will put out something that's very customizable so companies like samsung will feel like they can still differentiate themselves so they did what microsoft once did to apple they learned from that playbook and did the same thing but they also had microsoft to compete with so they had to do it for free so google right now spends billions of dollars supporting its mobile business but really doesn't bring in much revenue from it except with search and whether search on. mobile is fully mana sizable is still a big question for this day google still spent more on its mobile strategy than its managed to be bring back in but the alternative to that was to not do anything at all and to risk losing mobile devices to companies like microsoft that could bring an operating system and a search engine to the party and if they did that they were just going to lose out
8:40 am
on this market altogether so i think they made the right investments even if it's not cash flow created today ok and i want to ask you that's a good point there on our use of our cash flow but just this week now can they reveal the heavily customized version of android for its new cheapie smart phone line and they're designed specifically for emerging markets and the phones were d. google and just like amazon's tablet now the question is does an android leave google's mobile strategy open to this kind of platform hijacking absolutely when they put it out as an open source project i think they knew that was always a threat they have this is this underlying threat that someone can take the core android i think we realize that a phone with its service is a tablet with its services is inherently more valuable to the consumer and amazon with its distribution power is the only company who's managed to take a deep badge and android and turn it into something successful and even then it pales in comparison relative to what samsung and apple both have done in tablets so
8:41 am
while it's good for amazon to keep its amazon customers inside its universe it hasn't necessarily lit the consumer world on fire and i certainly don't think that the nokia x. is if it's even to survive the absorption by microsoft it's going to come very very soon that's a big question whether microsoft will let the nokia x. the android powered nokia survive whether it will treat the company more like it does skype and sort of keep its hands off of it or whether it's going to bring it in-house and strip it down and do the connected platform that it always does follow that same old microsoft playbook one that frankly hasn't turned out all that well with the exception of x.-box over the last few years. alex i want to quickly ask you this question i only have about a minute left but can you give me your views on the n.s.a. and how do you see the n.s.a.'s clandestine activities as a threat to u.s. technology companies basically in terms of cloud based business model specific lee i don't think the n.s.a. is a threat to the cloud based business model i think the one thing it's really a potential threat to is our ability to export you're already seeing
8:42 am
a sort of fallout for cisco and other companies internationally especially with the most tenuous relationship we have with you which is china we have that wonderful love hate relationship with china you're seeing already cisco and other large vendors like that getting blocked in these countries so i think the n.s.a. you know made a big political misstep in keeping this stuff secret. a lot of this information started to become public a couple years ago then again at the same time we've been doing the same thing to china china's been hacking the united states for a long time just like we've been hacking them both corporate and government level and we've blocked hawaii and other companies from providing infrastructure equipment in our country so you're seeing this sort of war of technology companies and the government getting involved in the hacking is making it hardest for the largest cat players but i think beyond that it really doesn't have a lot of implications for business what it does have is a lot of implications for the consumers who have to ask the question again of whether they trust the people who host their data alex thank you so much for your
8:43 am
time manner and say we really appreciate having you on the show and hope to have you back soon thanks. that was alex daly senior editor at casey research. time now for a quick break but stick around because when we return we're bringing you the best of the best from this past week now we've assembled some seriously quotable clips that you won't want to miss so stick around for that plus edward harrison and i tackle your viewer feedback in today's in the margins but as we head to a very quick break here's a look at some your closing numbers that the bells stick around. in two thousand and chime one of the first things released by wiki leaks was

coral reef it sounds like ten meters down nuclear tests a never ending legacy. welcome back now this past week we had some great guests on our show absalom merkin doug casey said some pretty great stuff about the intersection of the real economy and monetary policy plus both chris martenson and dean baker gave us detailed previews of what to expect in two thousand and fourteen here in the us take a look. challenge is that because we base this recovery on money printing and house the price inflation that as the reserve is trying to untangle it so the mess it's gotten itself into if things are going to go downhill again and the reason why that's so dependent on the fed is because part of the recovery for example based on
8:47 am
home price weak albert while those interest rates creep up. we're going to get significant headwinds to what we see. as companies like wal-mart struggle to make things and that's not a company specific target had problems amazon have problems that means they should have a few of the wealthy folks that can spend money but if you actually have to work for a living and have a it's done an adequate job it's going to be a very very difficult challenge to make a living and so this recovery isn't really based on the fed and if the fed is sneezing oil is down a gallon is catching a cold we don't have a problem in the economy but i'm sure your first and foremost on the. actions and central banks around the world. their reaction to any weakness in the economy is to print up more currency units and this is happening all over the world in the united states and europe and china and japan i mean all these minor countries as well so from what i expect to see even though we have some volatility now it's nothing
8:48 am
compared to what we're going to see by the end of the here and certainly with that here too you're going to see much higher levels of employees ssion all around the world and actual financial chaos of my opinion wow now there's been a bit of chatter about moving to safe haven assets is now the time to buy gold in your opinion. well let's put it this way there are. two times in recent history when gold was not just a us per asset to hold but a superb speculation that was some nine hundred seventy one when it was thirty five dollars an ounce of subsequently went to eight hundred fifty and in two thousand and one when it was about two hundred fifty dollars an ounce and it subsequently went to one thousand nine hundred and i point out that the two thousand and one at two hundred fifty it was cheaper in real terms than it was in one thousand seventy one to thirty five dollars ok now that said it's a little over thirteen hundred now right so it's not
8:49 am
a big giveaway bargain but it was ten years ago twelve years ago. the main reason you buy go. well that's because it's the only financial asset that's not simultaneously somebody else's liability so that's the reason you buy gold today it's a good speculation not a one way speculation anymore but yes you should own gold everybody should own gold a significant amount of gold. well erin we've got a lot of mixed signals here obviously i'm not a huge fan of using treasury yields to tell us much anymore at this point because the fed is so distorted that market one of many markets they that they have distorted so badly but as you rightly note june nineteenth and twentieth of two thousand and thirteen with fed taper talk wasn't just bonds that sold off everything sold off we saw stocks bonds and commodities all take big hits at that point time that could be a measure of front running i think it was more a measure of the extent to which people had somehow thought the fed was always going to just continue with the free money forever even the thought of the fed
8:50 am
stopping the free money obviously is going to have huge impacts for all sorts of markets the equity market in particular is really very much hinged at this point on the idea that the fed will print and print more us now or the rise in prices bond prices in the fall and yields is this a sign of economic weakness in your opinion. well i think there's a couple of things going on one of the first of all this is a global story now and we have to look at the flood of liquidity that's been put a cross the entire globe and we watched it washed into places very beneficially like turkey like india like venezuela like argentina now that that's starting to wash back out it's a very on virtuous cycle as it starts to come back in where is that money when it starts to rush out of those peripheral places well it rushes back into the core so i'm expecting to see things like rise in treasury bonds in the united states to actually reflect a lot of money coming back looking for a place to go and let's be honest
8:51 am
a lot of big money is very uncomfortable rushing into equities at these prices we even saw in recent times where we saw the short term money the thirty day and under paper at the treasury go negative for periods of time which means that people trust that source of getting their money stored in the back from the government more than they trust other institutions so in this story i think we have this huge flood of liquidity that went out and now it's coming back in and that's going to impact treasury prices maybe even equities for a bit. of two things. this is international and we continue with our breaking news story and the latest just in a russia's president vladimir putin has offered to the upper house of parliament for permission to use on forces in ukraine until the situation is stabilized this follows an appeal by authorities in ukraine's crimea for russia's help in
8:52 am
stabilizing the situation in the region they rushed in parliament and the foreign minister earlier expressed concern over the situation in crimea and the president to take measures to protect the citizens of the autonomous republic and. has been following the reaction moscow to the violence in crimea let's go live to her right now a high day reynoso didn't get any idea what russian m.p.'s want to see happen next irina can hear its. yes now we know that president putin has turned to the upper house of russian parliament with asking him for the permission to allow troops russian troops on the ground in ukraine before until the situation there normalizes now this comes after both houses of the russian parliament have turned to the president asking him to take
8:53 am
measures in order to stabilize situation particularly in crimea in order to protect the population including the russian speaking population from any further violence or upheaval in. that region so we're watching that very closely right now. at this point we have no idea about what number of troops where could possibly be even talking about but of course i'm imagining where you will be getting all the information pretty soon everyday yesterday you were in the dawn when you were listening to the president speech that what exactly did he have to say please could you remind us well yes of course that one of the most you can say one of the main ideas that the ousted president has to say was the fact that he does not recognize the legitimacy of those who called themselves the government of ukraine at the moment he insisted he still is the president of ukraine and logically judicially that is absolutely correct because he hasn't been breached nor
8:54 am
has he resigned and he is still very much alive so technically he is the elected president of ukraine he talked about the reasons why i see had to leave ukraine he said it was after attempts on his life and after threats that he had him and his family have received an include in threats to the life of his youngest grandson he's also talked about the fact that he does not in any way believe that you can possibly could be divided that is one of the things that he has underlined numerous occasions he also took a chance to apologize a tool of the police to better could the golden eagles who have been instead. for months in in the central kiev on the square with the protesters and we have carried heavy losses he said that he has seen them and he has expressed his condolences already but he wanted to do it once again and he also said the fuse determined to fight for ukraine's future and to see that ukraine stays undivided stays the way it
8:55 am
is right now he's also actually mentioned the fact that he is hoping that our president putin will somehow take measures in order to stabilize the situation in ukraine he actually said that he was surprised that the russian president hasn't done or said anything already in that regard knowing his character so this is a just some of the things that he said but also in the coverage you can see wrapped up the entire conference with the fact that he does not believe the people of ukraine will follow the current self-proclaimed government in the country right now . and earlier also remain witnessing what was happening. and sessional the russian parliament the stay duma which was discussing the provision of age to the crimean autonomy could you tell us more about that as well please remind us absolutely well one of the one of the most important aspects in this entire situation with ukraine is the fact that there is a lot of russian nationals and of course people who consider themselves to be
8:56 am
ethnically russian who live in the east and particularly in crimea and it's their fate their safety and security as a primary concern for the russian legislators at this particular moment that is why they have turned with official address to the russian president asking him to get involved in order to stabilize the situation in order to protect these very people who are essentially russian from any aggression from the radical groups that are operating in ukraine and it is considerably it is becoming considerably more and more unsafe for them there you can say. at some point i actually felt like i was uncomfortable speaking russian when i was in. and that for a lot of people in russia and in eastern ukraine is absurd on the rise especially particularly because of the radicals who are operating who seem to be streaming in from western ukraine and of course a lot of whom have actually permeated the branches of the government and that is
8:57 am
also one of the statements that was made by representatives of the federal council earlier today. right now going to live thank you very much indeed a weapon. and earlier the authorities in ukraine's republic of crimea asked the russian president for help following an attempt to capture administrative buildings by armed men stand by the new authorities and. groups of gunmen from kiev attempted to capture several government buildings here in the crimea fired to arms and sound grenades as well but these self-defense squads managed to repel these attacks although there are reports of injuries or more of them now local authorities are saying that they will continue to protect the crimea from any radical threats coming from extremists who hijacked power in kiev as a result as a result and we're also hearing from the local prime minister the prime minister
8:58 am
office autonomous republic that he's now put all the local security forces including the police the military the navy and the border guards under his personal control but you might. say the police are now demoralized the security forces are incapable of controlling the situation and there are armed groups on the territory of crimea taking all that into account it's been decided that temporarily i am in command of all the security forces in crimea and they follow only my orders. the authorities here have also changed the date of a referendum aimed to decide whether or not crimea should gain more independence from kiev the date has been changed from may to more so basically in the nearest future and also authorities here in the crimea are asking russia for help. russia is deeply concerned with the recent developments in crimea in the early hours of
8:59 am
march the first armed men sent from key have made an attempt to seize the interior ministry of the crimean autonomous republic this treacherous provocation left several people injured. thanks to the resolute actions of the self-defense squads the attempt to seize the building was repelled this latest incident proves that certain political circles in kiev riga to destabilize the situation in the crimean peninsula we are those who issued such orders from kiev to show restraint we believe that a further escalation of the already tense situation in crimea is irresponsible if you just listen to a statement coming from the russian foreign minister was sure said it's quite alarmed about these attacks which happened over the night here and said it's very unproductive for than your story is. to aggravate the situation here. and he want to know more about the conflict in crimea especially how the russian speaking population of feels about the new or sources in the capital look for r.t.

instead this is the headquarters of ukraine's very good here in crimea so for operators you can see the building is surrounded by barricades and patrolled around the core so-called people's guards are here day and night they say they're worried about attacks this is the upside down reality of ukraine today those whose mission just until recently was to secure a peace and prosperity of the country's population are today in need of protection themselves people here have different backgrounds they're from different ethnic groups but they share one common goal this is only one. protection berkut from the army of folks who came to power as a result of the coup they controlling the puppet government boats fishing decrease at gunpoint including disarming and sermon burke who will protect their families burped surface are also our protectors against people who are committing terror in other areas of ukraine those who gathered here say they don't want but if it comes

council because they are the ones who have to give the ok to the president but the reason for all of this of course is the fact that there was a grave concern in the russian parliament about the fate of russian nationals who live in eastern ukraine and in crimea in particular they are saying that the actions of the current self-proclaimed government in ukraine oppose danger to the well being and safety of these nationals considering the rising was a phobia which is coming primarily from the radical nationalist groups who have permeated all branches of ukrainian legislature at the moment who are very out. the in trying to destabilize the situation in the country with numerous provocations and this is primarily the mean reason why are there has there have been cries for help or i would say even addresses formal addresses petitions from the country's legislative body to the russian president in order to get some reaction and to

of this somewhat hybrid country and what reaction should we expect from the new all forces in kiev. oh they will screen blue murder of course and likewise there will be negative reactions all over the western world but i think the response should be. in one thousand nine hundred ninety you violated through on that ration the sovereignty of serbia in order to help the secession of costello and to help the albanian kalay there and now we are acting in a similar vein that you regard it as both legally and morally justified but in fact i think the russians have much greater rights to intervene in ukraine not only because of some ten million russians who live there and the third the twenty million ukrainians who feel close to russians but also because its status as a great power is jeopardized if nato is allowed to play havoc on the eastern
9:10 am
borders of ukraine that must not be allowed that would be a geopolitical disaster of the greatest magnitude. crimea's referendum on auto and they have now been moved forward ten months what reaction do you expect from kiev if there is a positive blood on the crimea breaking away. well of course they will claim that it is an illegal and unconstitutional referendum for getting along the way that they reached power by illegal and unconstitutional means basically for the new authorities in kiev and their handlers and aid there is and the betters in the western world what the source for the goose is not source for the gander but i would expect and look forward to a similar referendum being organized not only in kiev but also in the desa further west along the black sea coast and in donetsk and hardcore of to the north east
9:11 am
because let's face it as a ready said ukraine is a deeply divided country which only through evolution and through federal aid station can avoid the danger of outright civil war and peace integration and meanwhile we're guessing is that say he had south appointed prime minister promised to rule when crimea is vital tourist industry by blocking entry from russia belarus and europe unless russian troops very well do you make of his threat well it's actually quite the contrary i think that foreign tourists would far rather rather come to the crimean peninsula guarded by russian troops then policed by the thugs from love of and even the flank of sq who came to kiev to affect the regime change. if they are allowed to descend upon southern and eastern parts of
9:12 am
ukraine and they are very gung ho and ready for violence that would be a disaster which the russian president was valid license to to preclude by sending troops. we know that the e.u. powers and the us again pledged support for the south proclaimed authorities in kiev how do you think their react to the news of an attempted assault by forces sent from the capital kiev i think that would be a purely verbal expression of support i do not expect that either do you or the us would be willing to escalate this dispute beyond the point of no return because after all they realize that for the it is a peripheral issue for the united states it is an optional crisis and for the russians and eastern and southern ukrainians it is an existential issue and that the reactions will be accordingly different because the russians cannot allow
9:13 am
ukraine ruled by neo fascists from with all of and they cannot allow the ukraine would seek yet again nato membership which would be extremely disruptive of the geopolitical balance in eastern europe while on the other hand for the worse it's simply a geopolitical playing field in the game of surrounding russia and exercising what an american geo political expert called the anaconda strategy so i think that the sooner the russians react and protect both the crimean peninsula and the surrounding eastern and southern areas the better because the quicker the action the less of a reaction there will be from the west i also heard threats from some quarters calling for ukraine to rebuild nuclear weapons as leverage against russia and or remember the west was quick to condemn iran for suspected nuclear arms so what will
9:14 am
it make of these almost direct threats here. i think it's. a bit of bravado neither has the yoke creamy and sente thick community and arms industry the capacity to do so nor would it be allowed to do so because evils were indeed on the cards i have no doubt that russian special forces would be sent not only to crimean year but to wherever these installations happen to be and also against cuba itself that would be an outrage provocation that nobody can afford at this moment in time there except perhaps for some neurotics like the us senator john mccain. and finally nobody seems to be taking and mr going to college into account anymore has he any chance of a comeback what you think i don't think so because even people who used to support
9:15 am
him were terribly disillusioned by his poor performance in fact he is in decisiveness and then his lukewarm attempts to contain the tide as a warned on your program some weeks ago were the sign of weakness that could only increase the appetites of the other side he now stands largely discredited and they think it would be very important for the russian and production ukrainians to find another moral majority perhaps younger leader who is not tainted by corruption and who would be able to articulate their interests and not the interests of his ruling oligarchy i think that you know which is a spent force said to traffic of a church analyst and expert in international affairs and mr traffick of age thank you very much. and as our guest just mentioned no one takes it seriously
9:16 am
but representatives of the new ukrainian government already are threatening to quite literally go need care as i say from they say the border policy warns that cave could go back and its own constitution and restock its nuclear arsenals within six months and if the citric and i reports. double standards going to war washington suffer sleepless nights and paranoia when it comes to the nuclear capabilities of countries like iran around nuclear program around stokely or program iran's nuclear program but the us turns a blind eye when it comes to provoke it if statements coming out of key have one member of the ukrainian parliament's ultranationalists aboard a party warns that a fresh a dozen tread carefully it will be dealing with a nuclear power that's the rhetoric despite ukraine signing up to the international nuclear nonproliferation treaty of one thousand nine hundred four there is a double standard when it comes to the way that the united states deals with supposedly nuclear threat from iran which let's not forget there is absolutely no
9:17 am
evidence whatsoever that iran intends to develop nuclear weapons for for aggressive military purposes unlike iran the warning from the ukrainian lawmaker includes an actual deadline of just a few months this in a conflict torn country where even the most pessimistic predictions ended up becoming a reality but none of that seems to disturb the us the money that we can't use to be the poor in the hungry in the united states and in europe that money is going to support nazis in ukraine with nuclear ambitions who are looking to destabilize the region and whose sole goal is the destruction of russia yet another example of hypocrisy flying high from a country that touts itself as the world's leading democracy and cannot r.t. new york. so how real is key here is nuclear threat and here are some facts on the country's atomic industry ukraine gets hold of its energy from nuclear sources one of its plants is europe's largest and all the reactors are designed in russia due
9:18 am
to historical ties between their tummy agencies so is that enough to make a weapon ukraine does have facilities and scientists in that field but it locks its own fuel getting no weapons grade material from russia now you can get can still put together a dirty bomb with that without wasting much time to get to the right enrichment level but this would break ukraine's international commitments not to use or produce nuclear weapons and contradict its own constitution has put in a very very cold and nuclear payload and be fitted in a simple artillery shell or rocket and let's now take a look at the suggested time frame three to six months isn't enough to construct an atomic bomb as we know it but it is enough for a radio actually to bomb although political and economic analyst martin five from the globalist news website things that the scenario is quite unlikely to reduce threats are probably big stream of irresponsible blowouts but it's
9:19 am
very alarming to hear them being made in the first police new government which is now emerged to keep. other figures like the opposition state with the least to work to do the responsible. to earn the deserved respect and trust and cooperation of the international community that comment is disastrously card to productive and should be seen as search. she's really going to show has been a full and their reaction to the events in crimea and she joins us now live hi there rena what exactly did the russian president request and doublets parliament's position here the russian president has requested that he gets that he gets permission to use russian troops on the ground in ukraine in order to protect russian nationals russian citizens and a contingent of russian troops who are stationed in crimea from the danger that is supposed to them because of the unstable situation in ukraine at the moment now
9:20 am
this comes after both houses of the russian parliament have sent their petitions official petitions to the russian president saying that he should get involved in the situation because of the danger that is posed to the russians who live in ukraine and there is quite a considerable number of them there particularly in the east and in crimea now there has been a lot of news sources which say that president putin has asked the federation council for permission to use troops only in crimea and that is incorrect i'd like to emphasize the fact that it's an entire ukraine that was mentioned in this official address from the russian president. and award happens next how soon could this deployment happen well we were looking at days not hours definitely first of all the address to the petition or with the will have to be explored by at least two bodies at least two councils which will be composed in the federation council
9:21 am
after they come together and decide and make up their mind there will have to be a presentation by the president himself before the federation council afterwards there will be a vote and after the vote is counted the decision of the federation council will be officially sent to the russian president obviously that is not going to happen incredibly fast so we couldn't be looking at the troops moving in direction of ukraine as early as today or tomorrow is definitely not the case. the rate i'm going to live they are enough thank you very much indeed for that tom and more news after the break just stay with us. we'll call it on the road side to the car skidded at breakneck speed and fell into a ditch and i was thrown out of the car she was like a broken doll it wasn't

9:23 am
so we continue covering our breaking news story on the situation in crimea and as far as we know and sessional the federation council is about to start here in moscow of course it will go live and we'll bring you live but at the moment. has been following the reaction here. in crimea so what can you say about the session of the federation council well that's the first step in their decision making process which they will have to go through in order to determine in order to determine the number and the date for the russian troops to start their move on ukraine that comes just literally minutes after the russian president has officially turned with an address to the federation council which is the upper house of the russian parliament asking permission to use the troops in ukraine because of the destabilizing situation which is there right now which poses a grave danger to the russian citizens russian nationals and russian troops who are
9:24 am
based in crimea and that is one of the main reasons one of the main concerns which have been plugging legislative bodies as of late in fact both houses of the russian parliament have turned to the president earlier on saturday asking for his reaction his immediate involvement in the situation in order to protect these very russian nationals that we're talking about it was the federation council which said that there is a possibility for a small contingent of troops in ukraine and that seems to be the case this particular moment there will have to decide when and where to do that there is quite a lengthy process it will have to go through several stages the president will also have to appeal to the federation council they will have to vote on it only afterwards their decision will be officially presented to president and afterwards the action will be started so this is the process that we're looking at at the moment. and we're waiting for an agile sessional the federation council here
9:25 am
in moscow just briefed us about. expect that and earlier the authorities in ukraine southern republic of crimea asked the russian president for help and attempts to capture administrative buildings by armed men sent. small. groups of government from kiev attempted to capture several government buildings here in the crimea fired to arms and. grenades as well but these self-defense squads managed to repel these attacks although there are reports of injuries are more of them now local authorities are saying that they will continue to protect the crimea from any radical threats coming from extremists who hijacked power in kiev as a result as a result and we're also hearing from the local prime minister the prime minister office autonomous republic that he's now put all the local security forces
9:26 am
including the police the military the navy and the border guards under his personal control but you might. say the police and the demoralized security forces are incapable of controlling the situation and there are armed groups on the territory of crimea taking all that into account it's been decided that temporarily i am in command of all the security forces in crimea and they follow only my orders. the authorities here have also changed the date of a referendum aimed to decide whether or not crimea should again more independence from kiev the date has been changed from may to more so basically in the very near east future and also authorities here in the crimea are asking russia for help. russia is deeply concerned with the recent developments in crimea in the early hours of march the first man sent from key have made an attempt to seize the interior ministry of the crimean autonomous republic this treacherous provocation
9:27 am
left several people injured. thanks to the resolute actions of the self-defense squads the attempt to seize the building was repelled this latest incident proves that certain political circles in kiev rieger to destabilize the situation in the crimean peninsula we are to those who issue such orders from kiev to show restraint we believe that a further escalation of the already tense situation in crimea is irresponsible. to just listen to a statement coming from the russian foreign minister was sure said it's quite alarmed about these attacks which happened over the night here and said it's very unproductive for the north or. to aggravate the situation here like that. and to remind you breaking news this hour russia's president vladimir putin has asked the upper house of parliament the federation council for permission to use armed forces in ukraine until the situation there is stabilize this follows an appeal by
9:28 am
authorities in ukraine's crimea for russia's help instead of stabilizing the situation in the region and we're waiting for an urgent session of the federation council it's about to start shortly and of course we'll go there as soon as it starts so stay with us international for more. judy cox a utah mother out of spite but an entire line of t. shirts at a popular chain store at her local mall the reason that she bought them was because she feels that the images of nearly naked women on them violate her local towns decency code she wants to make it clear though that she feels the store has the right to sell this type of shirt just not displayed in an exterior window ultimately her plan is to return the shirts on day fifty nine of the store's sixty limit let's hope for her sake they don't have a no return policy i bring this up because this is a great example of
9:29 am
a nonviolent form of protest that actually works cause the scandal and more importantly it will make the company lose a few dollars technically the girls on the shirts are even fully exposed believe me i checked thoroughly and i would even call them r. rated by local communities have the right to be more conservative than the rest of the nation if they want to be and it's good that judy cox actually did something rather than just sitting at home on the air complaining about moral decay across the country if a housewife from a small mormon community could stand up to the man what's stopping you but that's just my opinion. is the easiest place to billionaires and dictators to launder money why because it's the only country in the world you can have anonymous corporations a lot of americans create over seas and then those great anonymous corporations in america so they lot of their money in america general electric they make billions of dollars in revenues they pay less than twenty million dollars in taxes because
9:30 am
of massive fraud because america is the easiest place to commit mass. in response to the intense law enforcement scheme. some of the local residents needed their job to watch. the police. my mother in law father both came to california in one nine hundred fifty six and they both got a job downtown l.a. work in a bullock's department store on seventh and broadway. my father had been living downtown ever since. but my mother she lived out in the projects the bad part of it was that i ended up hanging out in my mother's old neighborhood where i ended up joining gangs and so for near i got into my diction my addiction landed me in front of a judge. because you're doing robberies he said you have to go to state prison so they say as soon as me to an eighteen year state prison. when i was doing my
9:31 am
time in prison i became really more radical i was on the revolutionary side before i got out you know i i promised all of that when i get out i would give back all the wrong that i've been doing this gang member growing up in my life right so when i got out the first thing i did was i came back to school a role. so one day to bicycle security goes from the biggest improvement if you call a suburban shirts had just one twisted home up in the air and it was about to break the woman on so i say what are you doing man let the woman cohen goes you crazy because like a shot a picture got by i say so you will break. so the lady was very mad i know i know. i lied right so she tried to run she opened up her head to learn to go i said milliner go so they let it go and she opened up her hand it was a highlight or so i told myself when i was
9:32 am
a homeless man is something that we don't but it's preferred i'm still a general so i tell myself i've got to go get me some soldiers while i'm you know walking around here to talk to one of my friends and he told me you need to go to l.a. can they do that kind of stuff. and so from him witness. and in justice a day later he's elie cain leadership development classes and now three years later he's our lead human rights we're going to answer my job is to is to keep trying to wake up the masses you know and you know exploit you know stay with the system is doing. it right now my personal hero and i think all of us will stay on the test of time general don't drive. and the reason i admire him so much as. this is international we're keeping
9:33 am
a very close eye on the situation in crimea as well as here in moscow and the urgent session of the federation council has already started and where about to go live right now and. the brazilian. little bit that's a little bit of you. with. some of our colleagues are still in session going to different committees still waiting for them but they actually put away twenty four of them. talk of so you spew words about the procedure. asking you to. register you need to insert your card for registrations not all of the members inserted the in time so they just ration did not know well so please you register again. open start. the pressure. in with once the registration is over

9:35 am
russia's president vladimir putin has asked the upper house of parliament for permission to use armed forces in crimea until the situation is stabilized and right now we can go live to. a more comments on that right now what can we expect from this session well you know i was looking at this at the procedure in order for the federal council to allow the russian president to actually give the go ahead to the troops in on the ground in ukraine and it is quite lengthy although something is telling me that my earlier prognosis that we're could be just out of the book we still could be days away from that happening is probably wrong so although i have to say that they do the this address has to go through at least two committees that are inside the federation council who will then have to actually listen to the president who will stipulate the reasons for this however his reasons which is the protection of russian nationals russian citizens and the troops on the ground in ukraine are the main reasons for these intensive to issue
9:36 am
a certain contingent of more troops on the ground in that country that seems to be already stipulated in off of the the main reason so really at this point it's really hard to. exactly whether we could be actually seeing action instead of words however both both houses of the russian parliament have earlier addressed the russian president asking him to get involved in this situation because of the danger which the current situation in ukraine is producing to russian citizens and russian nationals who live there and we have to remind our viewers perhaps that there is quite a rise of radical extremist groups who are openly openly nationalistic who have been increasing in numbers in central kiev and they are now spreading throughout ukraine there are numerous reports of people witnessing their appearance of various other ukrainian cities and towns and that is something that leaves a lot of people quite uneasy so this protection of russian citizens and russian
9:37 am
nationals is the primary reason for this session that we're probably looking at right now the federation council who are who are trying to decide whether or not to give the go ahead for russian troops to be on the ground ok now we just have to leave a bad because we well we turn to the federation council right now. about the m.p.'s about sending troops to ukraine and continue to. do you. don't see. them. russian federation normal country. if you contingent.
